Easy Way to End Lust, Porn Addiction

Powerful Verses:

“Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

“Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” 2 Timothy 2:22

Everywhere we turn, there are sexual images. These image are there because they have powerful attraction. Advertisers use them to attract you.

Are These Sexual Urge Sin?

The first obstacle you will come is questioning whether these things are a sin. We know is a sin, but we want to play the lawyer.

We are to be Christ like.

“By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.” 1 John 2:5–6

How did Jesus walk?

“And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power.” Hebrews 1:3

Jesus was the radiant glory of God. So did Jesus look at porn or pleasure Himself? No, we know that is impossible. Even the mention of masturbation is shameful. It cannot stand the light of day in the assembly of the righteous.

Will I Feel Endlessly Repressed Once I end Sexual Sin?

What will life look like without sexual sin? Will life be boring? Will this purity lead to sexual repression. No, on the contrary, you will not miss a thing. You will not be repressed because you will not care for it. At least not for the person you are not married to. You will feel clean, and then you will see these temptations are demonic. You will be on your way towards santification. Without Christ, you are repressed by sin. With Christ, anyone, even those with no will power are given the power to end lust, and do so effortlessly (Of course, the first step is frought with hesitance. Is like ripping the bandage off quickly, and the rest is easy). That is a promise. Jesus said my yoke is light.

“No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13

Pre-requisite:

You are a Christian, and submitted to God.

Let's Do it! Two steps:

1. Do not say you will allow yourself some porn or sexual pleasure once you got it under control. That guarantee sin will come right back. End sexual gratification once and for all. Have faith that you will not miss a thing.

2. What to do with temptation? We all know exactly the moment tempation is coming. There are trigger points like when you see a picture. What to do? Think in terms of baselball. Tempation is like a fast pitch thrown at you. You hit the ball out of the park. Hitting the ball means you say no, I will not think about this. Sin is like a baseball is coming at you at speed. You got a millisecond to swing or you strike out. This means if you don't say no the instant you sense temptation, it will take hold, and you will strugle, and eventually loose. When I say instant, I mean literally half a second depending on your reaction.

The first time you do this, the temptation will come right back again. You say no again. Resist the devil, and he will flee. Once you stand your ground, and say no to temptation, an amazing thing happens. The temptation is completely gone. It is as if the temptation was never there in the first place. Is shocking when the devil flee. You almost ask yourself what happened? You were in lust one moment, and now all that is gone. Remember how Jesus resisted temptation and the devil left him (at least for a while). That is our version of defeating temptation.

See how wonderful Christ is. Take these two steps now. Don't wait and forget, then miss out.
